Need to request some help?

Daughters of Sheba Foundation is a Canadian non-profit organisation since August 2020, after being a private Facebook group for almost 10 years. We are headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. Our Members, Board of Directors and Officers are in Canada, USA and Jamaica.

WE ARE NOT A CHARITY.

The mission of the Daughters of Sheba Foundation is to significantly reduce poverty among women and children through targetted economic, educational and skills training interventions.

How We Fund A Request

Currently, we receive contributions from private citizens. Those are the funds used by the Foundation, along with monies from the Members themselves, to establish, fund and disburse towards the payments of projects and services to eligible recipients.

Are You Eligible?

At this time, we are focussing on our interventions in Jamaica. Come 2021, we will start initiatives in Canada. In order to be a recipient of any of the Foundation’s activities and/or programmes, you must be:

  1. a citizen and permanent resident on the island of Jamaica or in Canada
  2. 18 years old or older
  3. willing to do activities that will help you to get a job or improve your ability to get one

WE DO NOT FUND ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOLS AS AN ENTITY OR GROUPS.

Support for Children

If this request is on behalf of anyone under the age of 18 years old, you must be the parent or legal guardian. We will ask for proof of your relationship. Requests for support of a child or children must:

  1. be for school supplies
  2. school fees
  3. school feeding programmes/lunches

Please Note

Meet the above criteria?  If you do, continue to complete and submit the form and we will further consider your situation. Please note, that completion of the form does not guarantee that you will be selected as a recipient.

As well, you will be required to provide proof of residency (in Jamaica or Canada), a telephone number that you can be reached at and, in some cases, an address depending on the nature of support you are requesting.

Do not go any further without noting that:

  1. We do not remit any cash directly to our recipients. Contribution/payments are sent directly to the supplier of services, material, lunches or grocery
  2. Construction of any form of housing or business premises is not something we do
